CARESHEETS:
FAQ!

All snake species are different, but there are a few things that are consistant:

1. Snakes need a thermogradient; there should be a hot side and a cool side to the enclosure. This can be accomplished in many ways, but the best is with a heat pad that covers 1/3rd to 1/2 of the total cage.

2. Heat lamps are not suitable for many snakes as most snake species are inactive during the day, and will not bask.

3. Water should always be provided.

4. There should be multiple hide spots, of various types scatted through out the cage, especially for neonates! Make sure you have hidespots on the cool side and warm side of the enclosures.

5. Never guess the temperature or humidity! Buy a digital reader!

6. Do not feed food items that are larger than the girth of your snake.

7. Do not handle your snake right after feeding, as it may cause regurgitation.

8. Do not force feed your snake. If you are worried enough, see a reptile specialist! Many snake species do not eat every week, and some fast for months. This behavior is usually perfectly normal!

9. If you are bitten by a snake, do not try to pull out! The snakes teeth face backwards, and you will injure yourself more.

10. If you feed live prey, do not leave the item in the enclosure with the snake for more than 15 minutes.
