SAND BOAS:

large product photo

Eryx colubrinus, Eryx conicus

Kenyan's (colubrinus, pictured left) are a small stocky boa from Africa. Females usually max out around 36 inches, while males 18 inches. Currently, I am working with simple recessive morphs know as axanthic (or anerytheristic) and albino. Axanthic snakes do not have the orange coloration seen in the wild types, and is a key ingredient with the albino to produce the snow variation. I also working with many high color normals as well as a possible genetic hypo!

My second species is the rough scale sand boa (conicus). This species is very similar to the Kenyan sand boa listed above. These guys are native to India, and are actually fairly common. Even though they are called a "sand" boa, they don't frequent sandy substrates very often in the wild! They are also a burrowing species, and are very secretive, but yet usually very docile. I just acquired caramel hypo offspring rough scale sand boas, and am very excited about their potential.

My final species is the black Russian sand boa. We've just acquired an '08 male, and are hopeful to breed and learn more about this uncommon species in the future.

Projects: Snow, anery., albino hypo, and normal Kenyan's as well as normal and caramel rough scales and black phase Russians.
